ATTENTION EXHIBITORS - PREMIUMS CHANGES FOR 2016
Premium payments from the State were totally eliminated in 2009; they have not yet been reinstated for
the current exhibition year. The Board of Directors has voted to increase
still life exhibit
premiums and
to pay premiums for non-market livestock at 100% of the amount published in this Exhibitor's Guide.

You
are responsible for the rules that govern the
departments that you enter as well as the general Fair rules. Please read
all of the rules carefully.
INDEPENDENT EXHIBITORS
…
Will be required to follow barn rules that will be
posted in every barn and will be directly responsible to the Superintendents
of that Department - see page 8 - DUTIES OF EXHIBITORS.
SWINE EXHIBITORS
…
A current Pork Quality Assurance (PQA) number
is required to show at the Fair. The Shiawassee Co. Pork Producers
provide a class at the Fairgrounds on and the FFA chapters and 4-H
clubs hold classes throughout the Spring.
Exhibitors whose certification
is not current by June 1st must complete the certification on their own.
Classes will not be provided after that date.
RAFFLE AND FUNDRAISING RULE
…
All raffles, auctions or sales
held on
the grounds fair week must be registered with the Fair Office a minimum
of 30 days prior to the Fair so that they may be approved by the Board
of Directors. See page 7 for the complete rule.
GOLF CARTS

Golf carts, ATVs, etc.
may not be used
during the Fair
unless
PRE-APPROVED.

MISSION STATEMENT
Shiawassee County Agricultural Society's mission is to provide the best county fair possible for
all residents of Shiawassee County. This primary focus will serve as a showcase of the talents of
the youth of the community by providing a means of education, exhibit, fun and competition of the
various livestock and non-livestock projects inwhich the youth are involved.TheShiawasseeCounty
Fair will highlight the heritage of the community and its ties to agriculture and businesses that are
the backbone of the community. The Society shall also host and promote non-fair events that will
aid in the sustaining of the Society, while keeping in focus the overall mission of the Society.
WELCOME TO THE FAIR!
Againwe find ourselves preparing for another great Shiawassee
County Fair! Our fairgrounds provide a fantastic place and time for
all the wonderful things that happen here. A fun place for youth to
learn, mature, and achieve great experiences. Not only the youth,
but adults find themselves enjoying family, friends, and memories.
We all should feel very proud of what has occurred from all of the
support from our country. This encourages our Fair Board to strive
to be one of the best fairs in our great state. Agriculture continues
to be an important part of our lives, and it truly shows when you
walk onto our fairgrounds. Have fun and thank you to all!
